And the TNT The Closer Award for Most Annoying Commercials Goes To…
I watch a ton of TNT due to their basketball coverage, Inside the NBA, and Law and Order reruns. And every year for the past few years TNT hasn’t failed in bringing us some of the most annoying commercials for their terrible original series (serieses?) that no one watched. I thought maybe The Closer was just a one-off annoyance, but then they started to have the NBA Closer of the Game brought to you by TNT’s The Closer, and then the dumb show went on to become the highest rated cable show so it never got cancelled! Last year we had to deal with Tyler Perry’s House of Payne brought to you by Tyler Perry in every commercial break during every NBA game. It didn’t matter if it was a full timeout or a 20, they were gonna make the f sure you knew about Tyler Perry’s House of Payne.
Now there’s Frank TV bringing us 30 seconds of sheer terror every 10 minutes. Then TNT had to go and put him on Inside the NBA last night after the Mavs/Warriors game. Seriously TNT, you make me reach for the mute button faster than when the Carlos Mencia show starts after The Colbert Report. I contemplate scraping my brain out through my nostrils when I am forced to listen to crappy imitations that might have been funny 15 years ago.
Luckily, Frank TV is being cut to just 4 episodes due to the writers strike.
